Community Canvas
At its core, Community Canvas is an invitation: to create a work of art together, to watch it come to life, and to see your community reflected within it.
Over the course of the summer, a 6’ x 6’ canvas is built in stages – beginning with historical textures, expanding into landscape, and culminating in a dynamic human figure. Along the way, the public is invited to leave their own mark, making the piece a truly collective work.
The result is more than a finished artwork – it’s a living record of place, memory, and shared identity.
Throughout the project, visitors can:
- Watch artists work on-site during key creation phases
- Engage with the process in real time
- Contribute directly to the artwork during the public participation period
This open, live approach transforms the installation into a dynamic, evolving experience where observation and participation are equally valued.
